Preamble: Here’s an update on developments in the COVID-19 health crisis. The information on this page is updated as much as possible according to new decisions made by the Canadian administration. Since May 2023, most restrictions have been lifted for travelers to Canada.
For a stay of less than 6 months in Canada : You can carry out the formalities for entering Canada directly via the Internet by clicking on the online form. It is not necessary to obtain an appointment at the Canadian embassy or consulate.
End of COVID restrictions for travelers to Canada
The COVID-19-related preventive measures put in place in November 2021 for the reopening of Canada’s borders were withdrawn in May 2023. From now on :- Proof of vaccination against COVID-19 no longer required
- Pre-board screening tests no longer required
- COVID-19 tests no longer required
- Quarantine after entering Canada no longer required
- Use of ArriveCAN is no longer mandatory
Do I still need to complete ArriveCAN before entering Canada?
ArriveCAN is a Canadian government application. It manages the information of travellers entering Canada since the COVID-19 pandemic. It facilitates compliance with Canada’s public health requirements.
The ArriveCAN app was implemented in November 2020. As of May 2023, travelers are no longer required to complete ArriveCAN within 72 hours of their arrival in Canada.
Do I need to be vaccinated to enter Canada?
As of May 2023, it is no longer necessary to be vaccinated to enter Canada. Negative tests for COVID-19 are also no longer required for entry. Airlines no longer check the vaccination status of all travelers before boarding.
Do we need a negative COVID test in Canada to leave the territory less than 72 hours?
Canadian residents no longer need to present a negative COVID-19 test to leave Canadian territory.
